November that features the Naugatuck Valley Community College Choir, the First Prize winner of the Cleveland International Piano Competition in January, and world renowned Violinist Pip Clarke in March. For the first time in three years, we are repeating one of the Classical Masterworks concerts. The January concert will be performed on Saturday, January 17th and on Sunday, January 18th.
With the repeated concert, we have created a new subscription package this season for those who cannot make it to all of the Classical Masterworks concerts, can choose any three of the concerts to come to. This works especially well for those patrons who like to come to only the Sunday Afternoon concerts. You can simply choose to attend the three Sunday concerts in November, January, and March. Based on your seating preference, you could attend the three concerts for as little as $41 ($37 if you subscribe by July 1)!
Our Symphonic Pops concerts at the Palace Theater are also very exciting this year. We welcome the vocal group, Five By Design, to present the show Club Swing for us in October. The show features all of the most popular songs from the swing era, and will keep you moving from start to finish. Then in February, we will host popular singer, Julie Budd on Valentine’s Day. This concert will feature several great romantic songs that will entertain you and your special someone (we also have the Sweetheart Special back next year, with dinner for two, tickets to the show, and a rose – all for $200!). The Symphonic Pops series ends next May with the World-Premiere of the piece written by Dr. Ysaye Barnwell, inspired by Marilyn Nelson’s poem, Fortune’s Bones: The Manumission Requiem. This concert will not only feature the premiere of this piece, but also be a celebration of the history of the Waterbury community.
Season tickets allow you to get the best possible seats at the best possible prices (there is an additional 10% savings if the subscription is ordered prior to July 1st). You also don’t have to worry about standing in line at the Box Office, because we will mail all the tickets to you before the start of the season. If you loose them, just give the office a call and we can re-print them for you at no charge. Subscribers also get the benefit of being first on our list for invites to special events, and will occasionally get special deals to events presented by other local arts organizations.
