The Bird is the Word at the Waterbury Symphony this Spring!

The Waterbury Symphony League invites you to join the fundraiser Birdies for Charity in conjunction with the Travelers Championship Tournament. The Travelers Championship is a PGA TOUR tournament held each year at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut. This year’s tournament happens from June 16th – 22nd.

So how can you become involved? You can make a pledge to support the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra for every birdie that is hit at the Travelers Championship (for those who are not familiar with golfing, a birdie is a score of one stroke better than par on any one golf hole). The PGA TOUR professionals are expected to average 1500-2000 birdies during the championship. You can pledge as little as a penny, or any other amount that you wish.

For instance, if 1500 birdies are made during the tournament, here’s what your donation would total:

1¢  = $15
10 ¢ = $150
$1.00 = $1500

Plus, each person that makes a pledge will be entered into a drawing for a 7-Night Stay at a Marriot property of your choice, with more than 100 properties to choose from, AND roundtrip airfare for two!

The great news is that 100% of your pledge goes to the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra, and it is a tax-deductible donation.

If you would like to make a donation, simply call the WSO office at 203-574-4283, or click here and pledge online. Be sure to select the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra as your designated charity when pledging online.
