The second piece of the concert features the Waterbury Symphony’s Principal Flutist, Kim Collins performing Johann Sebastian Bach’s Suite No. 2 in b minor for Flute and Orchestra. The elegant and light-hearted dance suite showcases Mrs. Collins’ mastery and effortless abilities on the flute.
The Naugatuck Valley Community College Choir, under the direction of Dr. Richard Gard, joins the WSO for the final part of the concert, performing Antonio Vivaldi’s Gloria. Written early in the 18th Century, the piece is a joyful piece that showcases both the Waterbury Symphony and the Naugatuck Valley Community College Choir. The piece also features vocal soloists Ashely Bell, Elisabeth Cernadas, Evelyn Gard and Lauren Smith.
Tickets for this glorious afternoon of music are $40, $30, $15 and $5 for students. Families can also purchase a Family Pack of tickets, consisting of two adult tickets and up to four child/student tickets, for $50.
