Work is continuing on the symphony’s new office space at 114 Bank Street in Downtown Waterbury. We are expecting to be moving into the new office at the end of March or beginning of April. Sullivan Brothers, the general contractor for the project, has begun sheetrock work on the office. You can begin to see what the final layout will be looking like.
The offices will consist of a reception and performance area which will allow the Waterbury Symphony to host educational programs and chamber ensemble concerts with seating for up to 30 people. There will be offices for our Executive Director, Fran Goldman, and our Marketing Director, Michael Schwerin, as well as a conference room. The back of the office area will include a large workroom to house our music library and provide work space for our volunteers. There is also a small kitchenette and bathroom in the back area. There is also a large basement area to provide adequate storage for the symphony.
This new space is quite a bit larger than our current offices in the Chamber of Commerce. We currently have about 240 square feet of office space, and the space we are moving into over 1600 square feet of office space. This means that there are a lot of things that the symphony needs to purchase or have donated to fill up the space. Click here to see a list of items that we still need to get, and if you can assist us with anything, please call the symphony office at 203-574-4283 for more information.
Keep your eyes peeled for more information about the move and an open house in the coming months! |

This picture is what it looks like from standing on the window display and stage area. Beyond the archway the window hole you see is the Marketing Director's office.

This is a direct look from by the front door. Looking into the window to the Marketing Director's Office, you can see through to the Executive Director's Office. To the right in the picture is the hallway leading back to the conference room, work area, bathroom and kitchenette.

This is a picture of the workroom. The wall on the left center is the bathroom, and to the right of that is where the kitchenette will be located. The conference room is directly to the left of where this picture was taken.

This picture was taken from the end of the hallway looking back at the front area. You can see from this picture the front door and the window display. The window display can also be used as a small stage for performances. There is room for about 30 chairs in this front section, to provide a small, intimate performance space. |
