Some of the most enduring popular music came from the big band era of the forties, and what bigger star of that era and beyond than Francis Albert Sinatra?  The WSO will be augmented by a 16 piece big band featuring Connecticut native vocalist and trumpeter extraordinaire, Rob Zappulla.  Former lead vocalist with the legendary Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Mr. Zappulla will have the NVCC and Litchfield Intermediate School swinging and swaying with his interpretations of the greatest hits from “The Chairman of the Board."  Joining the party will be Prospect’s own Vincent Ingala, a magnetic performer whose commanding artistic range is well beyond his 18 years of age.

Rob Zappulla, vocalist

Not many vocalists have performed with the most popular big band of all time - The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra.  From January 2001 to February 2009, Rob was the featured vocalist for this famous big band. The affiliation has taken this great singer on tour with the Orchestra around the globe and all the way to the 2005 President’s Inaugural Ball in Washington, D.C.

Rob will tell you that it has been his honor and privilege to perform with The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra under the direction of the legendary late Buddy Morrow. Morrow, who performed with Tommy Dorsey, declared that Zappulla’s rich baritone and skillful vocal style, his great showmanship and his prior experiences as a touring musician has made him a perfect fit for The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra.

Rob has been electrifying audiences for the past thirty years with his own group as well, and continues to present his high energy performances throughout the country and beyond. More
