Four Seasons in Buenos Aires

Astor Piazzolla

Four Seasons

Antonio Vivaldi

This program will alternate between movements of Piazzolla’s and Vivaldi’s works, pairing complementary seasons – Italian spring and Argentinian autumn; Italian summer and Argentinian winter, etc..  In addition, the program will be presented without intermission, total duration of approximately 75 minutes.

Russian violin sensation Natasha Korsakova will lead us through the seasons, pairing the elegant Baroque mastery of Vivaldi’s famous work with the smooth, sultry rhythms of Argentine tango master Astor Piazzolla.  Whether staged at the NVCC with video projections of Buenos Aires and Vivaldi’s sonnets,  or the intimate, inspiring setting of historic churches, the music is exquisitely detailed.  A revelation in program music spanning over 200 years.

**The Sunday, November 13th performance features dramatic projections on a large screen above the orchestra.  Vivid images of Argentina will complement Astor Piazzolla’s music, and descriptive sonnets written by Vivaldi will be synchronized to The Four Seasons.
