About the event

Prepare to experience a delightful pairing of two celebrated masters as Waterbury Symphony brings the music to Thomaston Opera House on Saturday, February 10th, 2024 at 4pm.  Waterbury Symphony Orchestra's concertmaster, Alyce Cognetta Bertz andand Donald Sosin, one of the world's foremost silent film musicians, will perform an original score alongside a showing of Buster Keaton's iconic movie The General!  The film will be broadcast on the Opera House stage using Landmark Community Theatre's state of the art video wall.

About The Thomaston Opera House -  158 Main St, Thomaston, CT 

A historic performance venue in Thomaston, Connecticut now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Thomaston Opera House was built in 1883-85 and is touted as a wonderful display of Romanesque architecture. The theater in the building has served as a performance and film venue since its inception and The Opera House's principal tenant is now the Landmark Community Theatre with whom the WSO is delighted to collaborate for this very unique WSO Music in Great Spaces concert.

Parking is available in front of our building on main street. Parking is free. There is additional parking behind the building in the police/town hall parking lot. Handicap spots are available in front of the building and in the back lot. Spacing is limited. There is an overflow lot located across main street behind Webster Bank.
