About Harold Lloyd's "Speedy"

Released in 1928, Speedy is the final silent comedy masterpiece starring legendary comedian Harold Lloyd. Set against the bustling backdrop of New York City, the film follows the lovable but accident-prone Speedy Swift as he navigates work, romance, and an effort to save his girlfriend’s grandfather’s horse-drawn streetcar from extinction. Filled with thrilling chases, inventive physical comedy, and rare footage of 1920s Manhattan—including a memorable cameo by baseball icon Babe Ruth—Speedy remains one of the most beloved and enduring films of the silent era.
