Waterbury Symphony Orchestra to Present Candlelight Quartet Concert: Music of Fleetwood Mac, Eagles & QueenI

Thursday, May 7 • 7:00 PM • Five Points Arts Center • Torrington, CT

TORRINGTON, CT — Following the sold-out performance of its highly popular Candlelight Quartet Concert this past February, the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra (WSO) is thrilled to present this highly sought-after program to Northwest Connecticut audiences in collaboration with the Five Points Arts Center.

Waterbury Symphony to reprise its sold out Candlelight Concert with its String Quarter performing the the music of Fleetwood Mac, Eagles & Queen on Thursday May 7, 2026 at 7pm in a first ever collaboration with Five Point Arts Center in Torrington.

This intimate evening will showcase WSO’s professional string quartet, led by Concertmaster Alyce Cognetta Bertz. Audiences will be treated to a night of timeless classics and glowing ambiance as the quartet performs the music of Fleetwood Mac, the Eagles, and Queen as never heard before.

Surrounded by the gentle flicker of thousands of candles, guests will be immersed in an atmosphere that is elegant, moody, and magical—where the richness of strings meets the unmistakable soul of rock ’n’ roll. Perfect for an early spring evening, the concert offers an experience that is both emotionally resonant and visually striking.

The program features a sweeping candlelit journey through legendary songs, arranged for strings, including:

Fleetwood Mac — Landslide • Rhiannon • The Chain • Songbird

Eagles — Desperado • Take It Easy • Hotel California • Lyin’ Eyes

Queen — Crazy Little Thing Called Love • Another One Bites the Dust • We Will Rock You • Bohemian Rhapsody

WSO launched its Candlelight Quartet Concerts during the 2024–25 season, successfully drawing audiences from across the region and establishing the string quartet-by-candlelight format as a distinctive addition to its programming. This season’s performance builds on that success, continuing the orchestra’s commitment to presenting intimate, accessible concerts that broaden the orchestral experience.

Seating is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

In a world that moves fast, music like this invites us to slow down, connect, reminisce, and feel,” said WSO Executive Director Doug Donato. “The candlelit ambiance and stunning string arrangements create an unforgettable experience.”
