About the event
Leif's intriguing overview of what will be a captivating concert.
"It’s a fever dream, a love letter, and a full-blown obsession set to music – it’s Symphonie Fantastique."
Written in 1830, this groundbreaking piece tells the story of a young artist (a very thinly veiled version of Berlioz himself) who falls madly in love, spirals into despair, overdoses on opium, and dreams up a series of increasingly surreal and dramatic scenes—all wrapped in rich orchestration and bold, imaginative storytelling.
Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor is no less passionate – It enchants with soaring melodies and a seamless blend of emotion and virtuosity, making it one of the most beloved concertos in the repertoire.
One of classical music’s wildest rides!
