Let the passion of classic Spanish music whisk you away to a sun-soaked land of fiery rhythms and lush melodies. With two award winning soloists joining a WSO 26 musician chamber orchestra, this performance brings Spain’s rich musical soul to life. From vibrant flair to tender romance, it’s an afternoon that dances between drama, passion and beauty—perfectly timeless.

Echoes of España will feature the largest and most colorful orchestra ever to perform on the stage of Edmond Town Hall. We’re performing music of sun-drenched Spain, featuring glittering guitars, clattering castanets, and tremulous tambourines. Here in Connecticut, with winter on the way—join us for one last slice of Spanish sunshine and music that is muy caliente!

Featuring the much beloved work for guitar and orchestra, Roderigo’s tuneful and expressive "Concierto de Aranjuez' and the violin fireworks of Pablo de Sarasate’s Carmen Fantasy, this performance brings Spain’s rich musical soul to life. From vibrant flair to tender romance, it’s an afternoon that dances between drama, passion and beauty—perfectly lit, perfectly timeless.


This performance will feature a breadth of WSO’s professional orchestra musicians as a  26-piece chamber orchestra, including strings, winds, brass, percussion, and keyboard. Joining the WSO are two acclaimed soloists – violinist, Nathan Meltzer and guitarist, Nathan Huvard.

About our two soloists:

Guitarist Nate Huvard \/

Regularly performing with the Metropolitan Opera, Nate Huvard is a guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, and music professor based in New York City. He has built a reputation of sublime performances across multiple genres including early music, jazz, classical, new music, theater, and opera.

Nate's musical career has included extended roles in both Broadway theater and as chamber and orchestral musician across the United States.  His theater roles holding chairs on Broadway (Camelot 2023) and on tour (CHICAGO, 2022).

Violinist Nathan Meltzer \/

Described by Gramophone as "Supremely polished...and exuding maturity ... stunning", Nathan Meltzer is a Juilliard graduate and student of Li Lin and Itzhak Perlman. He is winner of the 2023 Concert Artist Guild Competition, a major prize winner at the 2022 Sibelius and Singapore International Violin Competitions, recipient of the Salon de Virtuosi Career Grant, and youngest ever to win the Windsor Festival Competition. 


Nathan has performed as a soloist with major orchestras across Europe and North and South America as well as as a recitalist and chamber musician at celebrated international series. nathanmeltzer.com
